The Opportunity:

Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible to ensure that all payments have been reviewed and approved, the team is well-managed and that all the processes are running smoothly including training and supervising staff members on the AP team's daily responsibilities. The position reports to the Finance Manager and will be located in Toronto, ON.

What You'll Do:

• Assisting in the monitoring of all received invoices, ensuring accurate recording of data
• Improve efficiencies in the team's current processes/procedures and provide guidance and action plans for continuous improvement
• Train AP staff and delegate/ensure all suppliers are assigned to someone
• Work with the senior management team to continuously improve / develop processes
• Communicate daily with the Accounting Supervisors on the team's workload, backlogs, open issues and review workflow and/or restructure workload as deemed necessary
• Work with purchasing and operations on establishing process improvements and procedures for supplier set up
• Support Finance manager with Internal and External auditors​
• Ensuring that all invoices are uploaded to accounting systems, investigating errors
• Review all payments backups and ensure proper approvals are saved
• Provide cover to the AP team during times of absence ensuring continuity of service levels
• Building and maintaining relationships with employees, clients and vendors
• Assisting with the completion of month end journals, posting and reconciliation to GP
• Update all the Tax related changes and communicate to other departments as required
• Support/Lead Payable Related Audits
• Responsible for Preparing payable related supporting documents

What You'll Need:

• Minimum of five (5) years of work-related experience, with at least three (3) years experience with supervisory responsibilities
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Ability to effectively support and lead Accounts Payable Team for Airlines division
• Requires attention to details
• Proactive individual who is a fast-learner
• Strong multi-tasking abilities
• Adaptable to change
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of GP Dynamics
• Ability to train AP staff
