Position Description
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a detail oriented and accounting focused individual to join our growing finance team out of our Rocky View, AB location. The focus of the role is to ensure the accurate input of financial data and aiding the finance team with timely reporting and compliance.
Position Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Payable for vendor and supplier invoices ensuring that all expenditures are authorized and coded accordingly.
- Liaise with the divisions to ensure accuracy of invoices and consistency with purchase orders.
- Ensure all invoices and supporting documents are properly filed.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable and prepare the required journal entries.
- Participate in the month-end/year-end accounting cycle closing process.
- Ensure the financial and accounting policies and programs are followed and comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned.
Qualifications
- 7 – 10 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Post secondary education in finance is preferred.
- Experience with Quick Books, Sage 50 and Sage 300 considered an asset.
- Experience in the transportation and/or waste industries would be considered an asset.
- Ability to process and organize large volume of paperwork.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Attention to detail.
- Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects.
- Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with coworkers.
- Ability to work independently while being a team player.
