Heaslip Ford is a small automotive business located in Hagersville, Ontario. Since 1910 we have been Haldimand’s Longest Serving Ford Dealer, we are even on record as being the 2nd oldest continuously operating Ford Dealership in all of Canada! Henry Ford himself was travelling by train through Hagersville and stopped in at Mr. Head’s bicycle shop and by the time he left Mr. Head was signed up as a new Ford Dealer. From tractors to trucks, cars and so much more, Heaslip Ford evolved over the years as several other services were provided, including an Auto Body Shop, tour buses, and even a flower shop. It’s hard to believe how the times have changed, we are now a fully certified Electric Vehicle Dealer and are proud to supply those vehicles and resources to those within our community and beyond.

We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk responsibilities include:

• Processing accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Posting bills, invoices and reconciling Daily Parts & Service Till/Package
• Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
• Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
• Understand expense accounts

Requirements and skills

• Proven working experience as Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable Clerk
• Experience in a Dealership Environment preferred
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and Accounts Payable/Receivable principles
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
