THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under the Credit Manager’s supervision, assists the Credit Manager in the areas of credit investigation, updating accounts, deposits, some collection of accounts and generating required reports.
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40hrs)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshoot discrepancies in A/R and collections.
- Liaise with sales representatives and/or other staff to resolve credit related issues.
- Assist with posting reconciliation of Accounts Receivable payments. Follow up as necessary and document progress.
- Maintain, update and file customer files and A/R records.
- Issue credit note(s) for customer accounts where applicable
- Conduct A/R collection calls.
- Responsible for the application and reconciliation of daily cash sales.
- Prepare daily bank deposits.
- Manage special billing accounts and process special billing requirements.
- Set up and process reoccurring credit card payments.
- Send packing slips, invoices and statements to internal and external customers as requested.
- Act as backup for reception desk (i.e. manage switchboard, scan pick tickets, etc.).
- Execute all other duties required by the position and/or requested by the immediate supervisor.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting/Business related program, an asset
- Minimum 1-2 Years’ experience in Accounting, Office Administration, or related department
- Good computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Mincron, web-based applications, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English
- Good mathematical/analytical abilities, strong attention to detail
- Excellent organization skills, able to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Good interpersonal skills
