Position Overview
The perfect candidate for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position should possess AR experience within the Customs Brokers Industry and have a solid grasp of the sector to efficiently handle customer inquiries. This role entails the responsibility of monitoring and addressing unpaid payment concerns. A comprehensive knowledge of billing and collections practices is essential, along with the capability to communicate effectively with both customers and internal teams.
This is a Part-Time remote position with flexible working hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PST, 3 days a week, working 21 hours a week, reporting directly to the Controller. The Account Receivable Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day Accounts Receivable functions.

Job Description
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Proactively contacting clients with open AR balances and responding in a timely matter to all customer inquiries to our Canadian and US office
- Ensuring payments and credits are applied accurately and in a timely manner
- Analyzing customer aging reports and routinely conducting Accounts Receivable audits
- Collaborating with other departments as needed to resolve collection issues
- Maintaining and upholding a strict level of confidentiality
- Recommending improvements to internal processes
- Assisting in month-end processes and other projects and tasks as assigned by the Controller
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary accounting diploma with a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of Accounts Receivable experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with customers
- Good judgment and demonstrated sound decision-making skills, highly motivated and has a proactive approach to problem solving
- A team oriented work approach with the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- High Proficiency with Google Sheets and MS Excel
