OFFICE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

TENNIS CLUBS OF CANADA

Tennis Clubs of Canada is a leader in providing affordable and accessible year-round tennis and pickleball across Ontario. KINGSTON RACQUET CENTRE

The Kingston Racquet Centre is a new facility, which opened in 2023. It comprises two full service, state-of-the-art domes, featuring six tennis courts and twelve pickleball courts, and capacity for a variety of additional activities in the multi-sport area. The KRC brings year-round tennis and pickleball to Kingston at a time when demand for both sports is booming. The Club Manager will work at the centre of this attractive, dynamic and healthy environment.

JOB SUMMARY

The Office Manager is accountable for every aspect of the club’s administration, reception and maintenance departments, ensuring they perform to the highest standard, while working with the Racquets Director to promote activities and provide a world-class experience for our members and students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Shape the culture of the club, based on the company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Establish a supportive, productive and collaborative environment for all team members.
  • Manage talent acquisition by overseeing the hiring process, including recruitment, selection and onboarding for administration, reception and maintenance departments.
  • Support ongoing learning and development of staff by providing direct feedback, training, mentoring and career path guidance, and addressing performance concerns.

CLUB OPERATIONS

  • Work with the Racquets Director to maintain efficiency and effectiveness of the club’s operations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and produce reports as needed.
  • Manage the club’s marketing and communications channels.
  • Manage facility upkeep and maintenance.

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • Create a welcoming environment in which visitors and employees are being greeted, informed and directed in a warm, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the club are operating to a standard that provides an excellent experience for all students and members.
  • Resolve customer’s concerns and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the rules and regulations of the Club are respected and followed by staff, members and guests.

EXPERIENCE

  • Work experience in leadership or people management

JOB ASSETS (I.E., NICE TO HAVE; NOT REQUIRED)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 year retail or sales specific management experience
  • Experience and knowledge related to tennis and/or pickleball and other sports

AVAILABILITY

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including some evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
