Job description

The Seasonal Receptionist at a Johnston FenceContracting plays a key role in providing administrative support, managing incoming calls, and assisting with general office tasks. This position is typically temporary to cover peak seasons or busy periods when additional support is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Greet visitors and answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous manner.

2. Direct calls to the appropriate staff members or departments and take detailed messages when necessary.

4. Assist walk-in customers with inquiries, product information, and basic pricing details.

5. Maintain the reception area's cleanliness and organization.

6. Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.

7. Assist with filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks to support the office team.

8. Coordinate with sales representatives and project managers to update appointment schedules and relay messages.

9. Follow office procedures and protocols for handling confidential information and ensuring data security.

10. Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members to provide excellent customer service.

11. Support other departments as required during busy periods or staff absences.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role is preferred.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for basic administrative tasks.

4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

5. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

6. Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

7. Friendly and professional demeanor with a customer service-oriented approach.

8. Monday to Friday 9-5

9. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and responsibilities.

10. Experience in the construction or home improvement industry is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 9 months

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
