Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. Job Overview
This role provides support for the efficient and effective operations of the Human Resources Department in areas including recruitment, onboarding and administrative tasks. The role liaises closely with other members of the HR team and local departments by providing customer focused comprehensive support.
Job Responsibilities
First point of contact for systems, process & policy questions.
Provide an exceptional employee experience to employees and leaders by responding in a timely manner to general HR inquiries. This ranges from completing employment letters, leave of absence management, administering the education process, and completing end of employment activities (recovery calculations, termination letters and exit interviews).
Oversee HRMS transactions by processing employment changes including gathering applicable documents, securing approval and submission in HR systems.
Provide chat and phone queue support on a schedule.
Contribute to the identification and implementation of opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance the employee experience, engagement within the HR shared services team and collaboration with the Centers of Excellence.
Generate a variety of HR reports, analyze, format and present data as required using a range of MS tools and systems.
Stay informed on Wawanesa’s programs and policies and support HR initiatives.
Follow department policies, processes, standard work and guidelines to ensure that tasks are carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Assist with recruitment efforts by coordinating and scheduling interviews.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a diploma/degree program with a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
General knowledge of local employment standards and human rights legislation
Proficient MS Office skills
Sound analytical skills, detail oriented, able to work with a high level of accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Good organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and prioritize/re-prioritize
A team player that fosters a collaborative spirit with the ability to anticipate the needs of the team/department
Strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
Bilingualism (English and French) would be considered an asset
