Junior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare period end accrual and other journal entries to accurately record transactions.
• Prepare various account reconciliations and follow up as necessary to resolve any reconciling items.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Analysis of results.
• Preparation of ad-hoc accounting reports.
• Assist with interim, annual, and other financial audits.
• Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure proper coding of expenses and journal entries.
• Work with all stakeholders to drive efficiencies, save costs and challenge the status quo to ensure targets are delivered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar.
• Prior experience working in accounting, posting journal entries and preparing reconciliations.
• Ability to think critically, identify issues, interpret, and apply accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with an emphasis on teamwork.

Preferred

• Interested in pursuing an accounting designation.
• Ability to effectively communicate in an open and direct manner, is detailed orientated and able to convey information clearly and concisely with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong ability to work within a team as well as an ability to take initiative and work independently.
