Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team. As a Junior Accountant, managing all accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and providing accurate financial information to the management team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of accounting and work alongside experienced professionals.
Duties:
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Document financial transactions and maintain a comprehensive set of records to ensure accuracy.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing source documents.
- Prepare quarterly financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company procedures.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, supplier’s ledger, client ledger, and general ledger.
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Reconcile accounts payable aging listing.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closures.
- Prepare documents for audits.
- Perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Complete tax forms and ensure timely payment.
- Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a General Accountant.
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
