.Job Description
The Junior Accountant will be responsible to work with the Accounting Team and Management to ensure that month end close deadlines are met. This position will work closely with the Accounting Manager to perform routine accounting duties.- Complete bank reconciliations and monthly GL account reconciliations
- Provide support in various accounting functions including month end close and reporting deliverables
- Assist in preparation of monthly journal entries, such as reclassifications, prepaid/amortization entries, accruals (e.g.; interest, loan costs, waterfall, management fees etc.) ensuring accuracy and completeness of all GL accounts
- Responsible for processing journal entries to ensure all cash transactions are recorded, such as bank fees, internal transfers, vendor payments, etc.
- Support Senior Accountants, Managers and Directors with requests for information from auditors, and many constituents across the organization
- Initiate wires for approval by senior management
- Assist in preparation journal entries for newly acquired properties and incorporate new properties into existing monthly procedures
- Assist with audit requests preparing supporting work papers as requested
- Perform back-up duties as necessary
- Assist with special projects as necessary
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 a major plus
- Advanced proficiency with Excel
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles
- Previous customer service background preferred
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation desirable but not required
- Quick learner
- Adaptable to new tasks and assignments
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of work product and completing work within specified deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent math and financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
