Role Summary
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a timely and efficient manner. Your primary goal is to ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly, producing high-quality food items that meet the established standards. You will collaborate with kitchen staff, follow recipes, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Primary Responsibilities
Food Preparation/ Cooking:
- Serves meals by reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
- Executes food production in accordance with standards and plating guide specifications.
- Prepares ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals.
Kitchen Organization:
- Stores leftovers according to established standards.
- Completes cleaning according to daily and weekly schedules and dishwashing/pot washing as needed.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any issues.
Team Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, servers, and other team members.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
Adherence to Safety and Hygiene Standards:
- Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
- Use and maintain kitchen equipment in a safe manner.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Customer Service & Teamwork:

Preferred
- Food Safe Level 1
- Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar setting.
Working Conditions
- Works physically near other kitchen staff.
- Often exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
- Can be exposed to hazardous situations and conditions that produce cuts and minor burns.
- Requires repetitive movements, and long periods of time on your feet.
- Occasional lifting, bending and kneeling.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
