Lemore Medical Clinic is seeking an additional full-time Medical Office Assistant with excellent clinical and administrative skills to support the team and work with patients and healthcare providers.
Job Description:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner, verifying their information.
- Administer injections and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
- Take vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight, and record the information accurately in ACCURO (EMR).
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip examination rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms and clean rooms after each patient.
- Ensure appropriate handling and storage of vaccines.
- Assist with medical billing and coding procedures.
- Communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and answer emails.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and perform general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents as needed.
- Collect and process payments from patients, including OHIP, insurance companies and third-party payments, as needed.
- Maintain professionalism in all communications with patients and other team members.
Skills:
- Proficient in administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of healthcare procedures is required. A background in the medical field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a Medical office is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (ACCURO EMR) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
- Knowledge of phone systems and the ability to handle multiple phone lines is required.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations is necessary.
- Knowledge of computer skills is necessary.
We are searching for a meticulous individual who can provide exceptional assistance to the physician, while also supporting administrative duties as needed. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a Medical office setting, as well as a good understanding of Accuro (EMR) systems.
