Job description

SRx Health Solutions is seeking a responsible and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our team in one of our Allergy/Immunology Clinics in Oakville Ontario.

This position is responsible for the front office functions of our practice. This includes, but is not limited to:

Responsibilities:

Patient Management:

  • Greet and welcome patients, providing a professional and friendly atmosphere.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary forms and obtaining required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and personal information.
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists, ensuring timely communication and documentation.

Administrative Support:

  • Answer phone calls, screen and direct inquiries, and take accurate messages as necessary.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and faxes.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for medical records, requisitions, and other relevant documentation.
  • Handle and maintain inventory of office supplies, equipment, and medications.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Liaise with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination of patient care.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointment reminders and other relevant information.
  • Compliance and Privacy:
  • Adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Maintain knowledge of clinic protocols and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records, following proper documentation guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized office environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance processes.
  • Medical background working with patients with Asthma, Allergies ad knowledge of Spirometry, Allergy SKIN Prep
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other office software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to collaborate and assist others when needed.
