Medical Office Assistant/Reception position is available in Family Practice.

We have 1 full-time position we are looking to fill for our Waterloo Location. This position would require the candidate to be available for days, evenings, and weekend coverage.

Pay rate based on experience.

Applicants experienced with Accuro EMR will be given preference.

Previous Medical Office experience is required.

Experience in a Walk-in Clinic setting is an Asset.

Responsibilities and Duties

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• patient vitals/triage, assist physicians as needed
• greet and register patients according to established protocols
• ensure patient information is accurate
• inform patients of Medical Office procedures and policy
• maintain and manage patient records
• answer incoming calls and deal with inquiries
• transfer calls as required
• schedule patient appointments
• private and insured billings
• schedule tests and specialist appointments for patients
• obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
• respond and comply with requests for information
• process incoming and outgoing faxes and mail
• complete other clerical duties as assigned
• maintain stock of forms and office supplies
• ensure the reception area is well-maintained, neat, and clean
• safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience

• training/certification on administering IM Injection as an asset
• high school diploma and graduate of the relevant college program
• knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis
• knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
• knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
• previous Medical Office experience and knowledge of the Accuro EMR system an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $16.55-$18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Education:

• DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:

• Medical office: 1 year (required)
