Job Summary
Our team is growing, and we are looking to add one additional Lead Hand to each shift (Days, Afternoons and Midnights) in our Production Department.
Reporting to the shift supervisor, the Lead Hand assists in the operation of the plant floor to ensure production is on schedule and meets company quality standards within established budgets.
Major Duties:
Supervision
- Lead staff on shift and direct staff training/development
- Assign work and follow up to ensure completion
- Assist with development of staff timesheets
- Monitor production to ensure scheduling and productivity requirements are being met
- Work scheduled overtime rotation during periods of peak production
- Responsible for quality of all products produced during shift
Administration
- Keep accurate ISO 9001 work instruction procedures and training and tracker system records
- Maintain files on product and machine set-up information
- Complete a variety of reports (ie. daily production, scrap, discrepancy, etc)
- Contact maintenance re; problems, repairs, etc
- Monitor weekly productivity and efficiency to reduce scrap and down time
- Maintain clean and safe work area
Other
- Assist operators and set-up personnel in daily training
- Comply with company policies/procedures
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Lead Hand position in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience in plastics Injection Moulding is considered an asset.
- Experience with PLEX is considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong computer knowledge.
