Salary: Admin 4 - Min ($73,536)- ($91,920)

What you will do: 

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Program Planning, Development & Renewal, the Quality Enhancement Analyst supports institutional quality assurance initiatives to advance program planning, development, and review in order to enhance Humber’s Continuous Improvement Framework.  

The Quality Enhancement Analyst is responsible for coordinating, communicating, and project managing activities and priorities related to the Ontario College Quality Assurance Audit and Standards of Practice for International Education (SPIEQAA) Quality Assurance Audit processes, as well as program accreditation applications and renewals. This includes: 

  • Managing aspects of the audit processes including, but not limited to, consultation, data collection and analysis, critical assessment, and follow-up reporting. 

  • Monitor and advise on updates to the College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP) and SPIEQAA processes. 

The incumbent is responsible for providing administration management of program accreditation, including tracking of applications and renewals, monitoring timelines, and reporting on the outcomes and deliverables. This includes: 

  • Maintaining relationships with existing and prospective accrediting bodies.  

  • Liaising with Humber internal Faculties and departments to ensure co-ordination of strategic priorities for program accreditation. 

  • Providing quality control and review of program accreditation proposal submissions prepared by faculty and other college staff prior to submission to senior leadership. 

  • Monitoring and advising on updates to program accreditations standards and requirements to support continuous improvement. 

The incumbent will work on an ongoing basis with the AD, PPDR to advise on the renewal and enhancement of internal processes in response to changes at the systems-level, trends in higher education relating to aspects of building a quality culture, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

The incumbent will provide guidance in identifying areas for improvement and implement changes and processes to retain currency in institutional quality assurance practices. They will be responsible for:  

  • Maintaining and ensuring currency, relevance, and efficiency of all templates and supporting documents 

  • Providing administrative management on the reporting and outcomes of institutional quality assurance processes. 

The incumbent will advise and support senior academic managers on the management and advancement of the College’s Quality Enhancement policies and procedures and monitor and update policies and regulations as needed.  

In this role, the Quality Enhancement Analyst will be responsible forfacilitating quality assurance processes such as program development, review, and curriculum renewal. They will lead these processes to create and sustain innovative, high-calibre programs that prepare students for their careers and further education. 

Recommendations will be made with tact and diplomacy in the areas of program development, renewal, and overall enhancement to QA processes. 

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience working in post-secondary education, with experience in program development and learning outcomes writing. Familiarity with external services, including MCU and OCQAS, as well as Ministry guidelines, would be an asset. 

 

 
Qualifications
 

What you bring to the role:  

Education

University degree required

Master’s degree preferred in Higher Education, Education, or equivalent

Experience & Skills

Five (5) to nine (9) years of relevant post-secondary experience in academic planning and quality assurance processes, and systems including program development, program review, and accreditation. 

  • Strong knowledge and experience working in post-secondary education, with experience in program development and learning outcomes writing.  
  • Experience working in postsecondary quality assurance in compliance with Ministry requirements, including familiarity with the Credential Validation Service (CVS), Post-secondary Education Quality Assessment Board (PEQAB) and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) within an Ontario Context. 
  • Excellent knowledge of educational systems (preferably the college sector), standards and best practices, nationally and internationally, coupled with an ability to analyze complex information, identify problems, and make judgements to adapt ideas to the institutional QA mandate and culture. 
  • Ability to promote excellent working relationships with academic and non-academic staff.  
  • Advanced listening, verbal, and written communication skills, and an ability to negotiate with various people is essential to arrive at a consensus. 
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, metrics, and reports from a variety of databases, and translate complex information and processes for internal stakeholders 
  • Collaborative leadership skills and the ability to motivate a project team to complete a project/goal/task. 
  • Strong report writing skills, government reporting experience preferred. 
  • Consensus-building skills; ability to promote excellent working relationships with both academic and non-academic staff and demonstrated ability in conflict resolution. 
  • Ability to anticipate challenging situations and proactively seek guidance from their direct manager or PPDR leadership. 
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize day-to-day tasks (including inquiries) with minimal oversight/intervention. 
  • Use conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills to move an individual/project team forward. 
  • Excellent computer software skills (especially MS Office, and data analysis programs)
