General Description:
Waste Connections of Canada, the leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America is looking for an Accounts Receivable Representative to join our team in Windsor ON. We are looking for a safety inclined, energetic, autonomous, and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community. The Accounts Receivable Collections Representative will have responsibilities for the collection of accounts within their assigned district, downloading details of customer payments and contacts, at times processing those payments in Waste Connections of Canada's Accounts Receivable systems, and following up with customers on billing related issues and slow payment history.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contacts customers with delinquent accounts by phone, fax, email and regular mail to collect customer balances.
- Reconcile customer account discrepancies, over/under payments, credits, etc.
- Record adjustment entries on customer accounts
- Contact credit references, and/or obtain and review customer credit history through Equifax
- Prepare monthly AR reports for collections meeting
- Process monthly billing for assigned district(s)
- Liaise with sales representatives to review the status of customer accounts, i.e. outstanding adjustments, suspensions, legal/liquidated damages, closed accounts, etc.
- Performs other accounting duties as requested by the Controller
Education and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Diploma in Accounting or related field
- Two years’ experience in collection of commercial and consumer accounts
Skills:
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people.
- Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize competing priorities.
