ABOUT WATER and ICE Co.
Water and Ice Co. is a bottled water and bagged ice manufacturer based out of Leduc, AB. We run a local store front while delivering water and ice to Leduc, Edmonton, and surrounding areas. This position represents an opportunity to take responsibility for critical functions in a small but very fast-growing company, and to work with and learn from very qualified individuals.
Position Overview
The Financial Associate contributes primarily through administrative and bookkeeping/finance responsibilities. They are a central point for information flow in the organization and must ensure its accurate and timely processing. The Associate will also be involved with special projects, contributing by managing project timelines, budgeting, and planning.
General Responsibilities
- Regular invoice and bill retrieval, becoming familiar with internal bookkeeping practices.
- Payroll and group benefit administration.
- Navigating, generating reports in, and daily posting of transactions to Quickbooks Enterprise accounting software.
- Daily account and transaction reviews, and account reconciliation.
- Inventory tracking and management including physical counts at multiple sites.
- Assisting with and generating weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for management and external parties.
- Preparing spreadsheets for analysis.
- Answering the phone, returning calls, customer service, and complaint resolution.
- Taking orders, scheduling, and dispatching using company route tracking software.
- Organization, file and system management.
- Some responsibility to be cross trained and assist with other functional areas (typically coverage for sick days or vacations).
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or other accreditation in Bookkeeping required
- 2 years bookkeeping or administrative experience required
- Schedule flexibility and willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed
- Ability to understand basic bookkeeping principles, remember specific transactions that are required, and ensure accurate and systematic record keeping
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suit
- Responsiveness and ability to problem-solve
- Professional attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with Quickbooks software an asset
- Familiarity with Route Star or other route planning software an asset
- Familiarity with Sharepoint an asset
- Familiarity with inventory tracking an asset
- Ability to lift 44 pounds repeatedly an asset
