Your Opportunity

BDO Canada's Internal Finance department is in search of a Junior Accountant to join their team.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations, the Junior Accountant is responsible for completing accounting functions, working closely with, and receiving guidance from colleagues across the country. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and reconcile credit card accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports, including analyzing and balancing recurring journal entries for leases, telecommunications, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute accounts receivable invoices for interoffice billings, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding receivables.
  • Apply customer payments in the Workday system accurately.
  • Support accurate and timely completion of balance sheet accounts, as needed.
  • Execute transactions according to established finance team processes and schedules.
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate on projects and other activities to bolster team efforts.

Your experience and education

  • You should have a college diploma or University degree in accounting or a related field.
  • You should possess 1-2 years of accounting work experience, with a focus on practical application.
  • You should demonstrate proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Your communication skills should be strong, encompassing written, spoken, and listening abilities.
  • You should prove adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Your professional demeanor should enable you to interact diplomatically with partners and staff at all levels.
  • You should showcase skills in prioritization, organization, time management, planning, and follow-up.
  • Your ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including effective collaboration with remote colleagues, is crucial.
