Project Administrator – Kitimat, BC

As a Project Administrator at CIMS LP, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to CIMS's success. Your responsibilities will include managing regional project administration tasks such as the accurate and timely entry of payroll into CIMS timekeeping system (DTC) & client applications, organizing and maintaining payroll-related documentation. Additionally, you will embody CIMS's corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion.

You will report to the Project Accountant Lead - West and be accountable for the following:

  • Ensure accurate employee records and timely time management system updates.
  • Submit time records promptly for payroll and invoicing.
  • Collect payroll documentation for timely worker payments.
  • Maintain project crew lists and report on time usage and costs.
  • Address payment inquiries, support project supervision, and manage travel arrangements while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Support and advance CIMS' culture, values, and business strategy while ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives and strategic direction

You are the ideal candidate for this role if you:

  • Completion of a business administration certificate, diploma, or degree would be advantageous, demonstrating a foundational understanding of business principles and practices.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and timekeeping is preferred, providing the candidate with a solid understanding of these processes and their importance in organizational operations.
  • Familiarity with understanding and interpreting union agreements would be beneficial, enabling the candidate to navigate complex contractual arrangements effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in computer Office Suite applications, including Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required for performing various administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with colleagues, stakeholders, and external parties.

  • the accuracy of data entered and maintained in the CIMS timekeeping system, crew lists, and databases.
  • Monitor for errors and discrepancies and track the percentage of records with accurate information.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, union agreements, and legal regulations in performing each task. Monitor adherence to relevant timelines and guidelines.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders, such as project supervisors, payroll departments, and clients, on the quality and effectiveness of the tasks performed.

Job Type: Casual

Salary: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay

Education:

  • DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:

  • Payroll: 2 years (required)
  • Data entry: 2 years (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 2 years (required)
