Position Objective
Reporting to the Manager, Client Accounting, the Accounting Assistant supports the accounting team by performing administrative tasks for the Client Accounting team. This role includes tax and treasury duties. This is the ideal role for a proactive, professional and accountable individual who has the ability to learn and adapt quickly, with strong interpersonal skills, keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. Please note this is a seasonal position for 4-8 months.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- scanning and filing of accounting related mail and correspondence
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Facilitate external audits by gathering and uploading requested files and documentation
- Recurring entries and accounting data uploads
- Assist Property Accountants with month end financial statement preparation and various tasks, reconciliations as assigned
- Prepare annual Budget templates
- Coordinating owner inquires
- Accounts Payable support as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills will be essential in this role
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build great relationships and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Must have demonstrated commitment, and a high standard of work ethics in their current role
- Demonstrated success processing high volumes of work
Education & Experience
The successful candidate will combine attention to detail with speed and efficiency. A minimum of six month’s experience in a similar role is required. Familiarity with general accounting processes is desirable.

- Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.
- May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
- Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
- Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
- Displaying Confidentiality, Respect and Loyalty.
- Must show discretion and not participate in conversation of a personal or inflammatory nature, particularly when communicating with Property Managers or coworkers
