Accounting Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct periodic audits to verify compliance with Alberta and Saskatchewan energy regulators.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
- Utilize accounting software relating to this industry mainly Pandell
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes

Skills:
- Strong mathematical skills with the ability to analyze numerical data accurately
- Proficiency in using accounting software mainly PANDELL
- Knowledge of account analysis and reconciliation techniques
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
