SUMMARY
Full time Medical Office administrator needed in the office of an Orthopaedic surgeon to provide patient care through their role as liaison between referring physicians, patients and allied health professionals. The successful candidate for this position will be efficient, hardworking, and organized. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and should be able to multitask and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Candidates should have a professional and friendly demeanor and a passion for exceptional patient care
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact professionally with patients, colleagues, clinicians and the public.
- Manage office and OR schedules as well as referral processes.
- Administering confidential patient health records.
- Routine bookkeeping: issuing receipts, invoices and accepting payments via cheque, cash, e-transfer.
- Facilitate office equipment/ EMR/ IT maintenance.
- Maintain office supplies and ensure the overall professional appearance of the office.
- Administering MSI claim submission and reconciliation processes
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from a recognized Medical Office Assistant program (required).
- Recent Medical Office experience (1-3 years, preferred).
- Experience using Electronic Medical Record software (EMR), with a preference of Acuro.
- Proficiency in use of technology with competencies in using Microsoft Office Suite Software (Word and Excel), Adobe, Windows Fax and Scan.
- Experience handling confidential records and sensitive information.
- Ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively in a busy clinic environment.
Additional Information:
- 32 Hours per week.
- Monday to Friday
- Day shift, no weekends
- Expected start date: ASAP
