We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper with administrative capabilities to join our non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a minimum of 5 years of experience using Sage and/or Quick Books and possess exceptional time management skills, as well as proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using Sage and/or Quick Books
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner
- Monthly Account Reconciliations, including bank statements and credit card transactions monthly
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
- Work closely with the Treasurer to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well GAAP and Government regulations
- Semi-monthly payroll for a small staff and associated Government source deductions
- Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phones, managing emails, assisting Bridge Officers and scheduling events
- GST/PST reporting and remittance
- Prepare and distribute semi-annual billings to members
- Maintain and reconcile Yacht Club Moorage management system
- Annual Societies reporting
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Proficiency in using Sage and/or Quick Books
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively with minimal supervision
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
