As the Clinical Lead, reporting to the Clinical Director, you will be responsible for the clinical supervision of the internal team of Mental Health Therapists to support the membership of the Calgary Police Service (CPS). You will provide leadership in planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of services offered and continuing professional development activities for the clinical staff, including orientation, educational programs, clinical development, and continuing education. Additional duties include:
- Observe clinical sessions, review clinical documentation and written reports, conduct individual and team case consultations, and provide guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner.
- Conducts scheduled file audits for quality and adherence to policy and professional standards, and regularly review clinical notes and written reports for the Worker's Compensation Board (WCB).
- Provide assessment and treatment to a small caseload of members and family members of CPS presenting with a range of mental health issues including workplace trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- Supervise and direct intervention for CPS members and their families presenting in crisis.
- Coordinate referrals to specialized services such as psychiatry, intensive outpatient services, inpatient or residential programming.
- A master's degree in Psychology or Social Work, and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
- 10 years of demonstrated clinical experience, including 3 years in a clinical supervisory role.
- Experience supervising Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and evidence-based trauma therapy (i.e. Prolonged Exposure, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy) is required.
- The successful candidate will be competent in coaching and development, communication, managing resources, planning and prioritizing, relationship building, self-confidence and team building and teamwork.
- An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
