Northern College is seeking a Finance Clerk, Accounts Payable in our Finance department. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform work accurately and with attention to detail. Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Reporting to the Accountant, the successful candidate will be responsible for general duties of the Finance Department, specifically in Accounts Payable, purchase orders, cash receipts and cash disbursements. The incumbent has College-wide responsibilities in these areas.
What you will be doing:
- Verify completeness and accuracy of vendor invoices and request for cheque forms received (including travel, PD, and other expense claims);
- Liaise with other finance personnel, customers/students/vendors, peers, and managers for the effective operation within the Finance Department;
- Monitor finance department email and action as appropriate; and
- Prepare and record bank deposits.

What you will need to be considered:
- Two (2) year diploma or equivalent, in Business Administration with a major in Accounting; and
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with an integrated financial information system utilizing the general ledger and Accounts Payable. The incumbent must also have two years’ practical experience with Accounts Payable, cash management, cash receipts and purchasing practices and procedures.
