In-Home Recreation Coordinator
The Alzheimer Society Huron Perth actively supports families and individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. We advocate for and provide support services, education, and funding for research for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Location: Alzheimer Society Huron Perth, 317 Huron Road, Clinton, ON (with travel required to community partner sites)
Status: 1 year Maternity Leave - Full-time, 35 hours per week, occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Immediate Supervisor: Manager of Programs and Services
Position Summary:
The In-Home Recreation Coordinator will provide clients the opportunity to participate in a
range of activities that are stimulating, therapeutic, and socially engaging in their own home.
The In-Home Recreation Coordinator will also oversee program referrals and work closely with First Link program staff and volunteers to plan and facilitate matches.
Qualifications:
· Completed post-secondary education in Therapeutic Recreation and/or Recreation and Leisure Diploma or equivalent work and training experience.
· Experience building relationships with volunteers, staff and community partners.
· Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and how they impact persons living with Dementia and/or their families.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently as well as a cooperative team member.
· Good time management/organizational skills meeting deadlines.
· Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities e.g., to represent the Society at events and programs which occur outside of regular work hours.
· Driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
· Vulnerable Sector Police Screening.
