We are looking for a driven individual to join as a Construction Project Administrator.
Overview:
As a Construction Project Administrator at SilvaSpan, the candidate will play a crucial role in the management and execution of projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this individual will be instrumental in supporting the management team in overseeing project progress, developing, and maintaining client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects from conception through to completion.
Duties:
- Assist with project planning, scheduling and coordination
- Support the Operations Manager in daily operations, facilitating communication and collaboration among project team members
- Coordinate the procurement process, ensuring competitive pricing and timely acquisition of materials
- Maintain project documentation, including contracts, invoices, and progress reports
- Track project timelines and deliverables
- Coordinate meetings and conference calls, including scheduling, agenda preparation and minutes taking
- Assist with logistic requirements relating to delivery of construction materials and equipment
- Manage submittals and shop drawings
- Assist in submission and management of pricing for Change Orders
- Prepare and distribute project-related communications to team members and stakeholders
- Conduct research and gather data to support projects
- Provide general administrative support to the Operations Manager
- Assist in conducting Quality Control inspections to ensure product quality
- Other activities, duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or College Diploma with formal engineering or architectural training or equivalent building construction, required
- A minimum of 2 years experience in project coordination/management
- Basic understanding ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Must have good interpersonal skills with desire to expand construction knowledge and learning
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Detail oriented with a highly analytical approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently and within a team
