We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual part-time Medical Receptionist for our Cover Health team!

As a Remote Medical Receptionist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice by providing exceptional administrative support and customer service to our patients. You will be responsible for managing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, maintaining patients records, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process patients registration according to established protocols
  • Assist patients in completing all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
  • Review patient information to ensure accuracy, including billing information
  • Educate patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • Proficient in accurate filing procedures and adept at handling fax communications effectively; maintain and manage patient records
  • Facilitate the smooth transition of patients between appointments as per schedule.
  • Answer and resolve incoming patient inquiries via emails, chat, sms, and other company communication tools
  • Transfer issues as required
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect co-pays and payments
  • Respond and comply to requests for information
  • Efficiently handle administrative tasks as assigned
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Manage medical OHIP and non-OHIP billing
  • Prepare patient documentation (ie. letters and referrals)
  • Fax prescriptions to pharmacies and send medical notes to patients
  • Upload documents to patient charts
  • Other duties as required by management
  • Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in medical office administration is an asset
  • Experience in a Medical Receptionist, customer service, or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in using OSCAR or similar electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software
  • Proficiency in using Google Workspace tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with a genuine desire to help others
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance billing processes is advantageous
  • Reliable internet connection and home office setup conducive to remote work

Schedule:

  • Total of 25 to 35 hours a week, 5-8 hours shifts
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required, specifically
  • Monday 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • Tuesday 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • Wednesday 8:30am to 1:30pm
  • Thursday 8:30am to 1:30pm

Compensation:

  • $17-19/hour depending on experience .

Work Environment:
