Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients, managing phone systems, scheduling appointments, and maintaining electronic medical records. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office and possess strong administrative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer multi line phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Telus Health Solutions (Practice Solutions)
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Communicate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure smooth patient flow
-Have the ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Skills:
-Receptionist experience and computer skills are required
- Proficient in operating phone systems and handling multiple incoming calls
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- A diploma in medical administration or previous experience working in a medical office is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
