Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls from patients and schedule appointments with physicians, respond to phone inquiries, prioritize and redirect calls where appropriate
- Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.
- Call patients with messages conveyed from physicians, such as abnormal labs results.
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR)
- Prep rooms for physician before patient is seen, and assist physicians in exam rooms.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients EMR records. Knowledge of urine dips and samples.
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with medical office administrative tasks as needed
Skills:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role.
- Familiarity with medical office operations and terminology
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (EMR)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with office phone systems
