Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at our office by providing excellent customer service and administrative support to patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Taking vital signs, preparing laboratory specimens, sterilizing medical instruments and preparing a patient for examination
- Verify patient information and health card details accurately
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist medical staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Handle billing and insurance claims processing
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
- Scheduling appointments and surgeries at the hospital
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical records systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and OHIP schedule of benefits
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor towards patients

- Dental receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
