The Accounting Administratorreports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the administration of the company and project accounting, and financial operations.
As an Accounting Administrator at Ashton Construction Services Inc. you will:
- Perform and support financial administration for the company, including: reconciliations; assisting with financial analysis; budgeting; data entry; and credit card reconciliation.
- Assist with the management of the company general ledger, monthly closing process and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and ongoing reports in accordance with our Buildertrend and QuickBooks Online (QBO) software.
- Support the Accounting Manager with oversight of the accounting and finance functions.
- Perform and manage the accounts payable process with our vendors, subtrades and suppliers.
- Verify invoices in QBO and Buildertrend for all departments.
- Check coding for invoices and expense reports as directed by the Accounting Manager.
- Follow up with the team on outstanding invoices, credit card payments, and invoice approvals.
- Preparation and input of accounts receivable invoices, collections, and reporting.
- Assist with monthly payroll process.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
To be Successful at Ashton Construction Services Inc., you will have the following qualifications and experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in accounting with preference for construction accounting background (commercial buildings, multifamily, retail, healthcare, etc.).
- Preference given for diploma or certificate in Accounting Technology.
- Proficient with QuickBooks online.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams and Planner.
- Proficient with Adobe Pro.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills.
- The ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure.
- Prior experience with Buildertrend or similar project management software considered an asset.
